EARTHWOOL – ACOUSTIC
How acoustic insulation works
Noise
levels are measured in decibels (dB) and levels above 45dB are
generally considered annoying – though this is dependent on the level
of ambient noise. While standard internal walls can greatly reduce
sound transmission, they are not effective with louder noises such as
raised voices and entertainment systems. Depending on the wall
structure, the inclusion of High Density Acoustic Batts in a wall
cavity will reduce the noise travelling through the wall by
approximately 6dB. This equates to a huge reduction in sound power of
75% when compared to an uninsulated wall.
